Summary
This study is testing a new, simple stepping-in-place exercise test (F-IST) for people who are acutely ill in the hospital. Researchers want to see if this easy test gives the same results as the standard, more complex heart-lung test. About 60 adults who can walk (with or without help) will participate. If the F-IST works well, it could be a quick, practical way to measure fitness in busy hospital settings like the ICU.
