Heart attack prevention showdown: stents challenge traditional bypass surgery

Summary
This study compares two common procedures for patients with multiple clogged heart arteries who are at high risk for a heart attack. It tests whether minimally invasive stenting (PCI) is as safe and effective as traditional bypass surgery (CABG) for preventing major complications like death, heart attack, or stroke. About 1,000 participants will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two procedures and followed for one year to see which approach works better.
