Could stem cells save babies' brains after oxygen loss?

Summary
This study tests whether adding stem cells from donated placentas to standard cooling therapy can improve outcomes for newborns with brain injury from lack of oxygen. Forty infants with moderate to severe injury will receive either stem cells or placebo within the first 10 days of life. Researchers will track death, developmental delays, and brain scans for up to 2 years.
