Stem cell shot trial tests new hope for aching knees
NCT ID NCT04314661
Summary
This study tested whether injections of umbilical cord stem cells and their healing fluids could reduce pain and improve function in people with knee osteoarthritis. Researchers compared two delivery methods: one using a small camera (arthroscopy) and one without it. Thirty-one patients received injections and were followed for six months to measure pain levels and joint function.
