Could cord blood cells help heal damaged hearts?

NCT ID NCT07134712

Summary

This study is testing whether an infusion of stem cells from umbilical cord blood can safely help the heart recover after a heart attack. About 102 participants who recently had a heart attack will be randomly assigned to receive either the stem cell treatment or standard care, without knowing which one they get. The main goals are to see if the treatment improves the heart's pumping ability and to monitor for any side effects over 12 months.
