First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 32 times
Summary
This study tested whether infusions of a person's own stem cells could help prevent COVID-19 from causing serious illness. Researchers gave five IV infusions of these cells to 51 adults at high risk, such as those over 65 or with health conditions. The goal was to see if the treatment reduced hospitalizations and symptoms. The study is complete, but results are not yet widely reported.
