First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 36 times
Summary
This study looked at how taking statins (a common cholesterol-lowering drug) along with regular exercise affects muscle cells and overall fitness in adults aged 40-65 with high cholesterol. About 120 participants were split into four groups: exercise plus placebo, exercise plus statin, statin only, or placebo only. The goal was to understand if statins interfere with the positive effects of exercise on muscle energy and aerobic capacity.
