Summary
This study looked at whether adding a statin (a common cholesterol-lowering drug) to standard treatment can reduce airway inflammation and improve breathing in people with severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Researchers measured blood markers of inflammation and lung function in 80 adults aged 40 and older. The goal was to see if statins could help control the disease better, not cure it.
