Knee angle test fails to predict landing risk in teen athletes

NCT ID NCT07605000

First seen May 24, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026

Summary

This study looked at 24 female athletes aged 16-18 to see if a simple measure of knee alignment (the Q angle) can predict how they land from a jump. The researchers measured the Q angle at rest and compared it to landing mechanics using video analysis. The goal was to find a quick way to identify athletes at risk for knee injuries, but the study only observed relationships without testing any treatment.
