New shot aims to tackle stubborn heart risk factor

Summary

This early-stage study tests a new medicine called SRSD216, given as a shot under the skin, in people with high levels of lipoprotein(a) — a genetic risk factor for heart disease. The goal is to see if the drug is safe and how it affects Lp(a) levels in the blood. About 84 adults with or without a history of heart problems will take part.
