Summary
This study tested a fast, simple test that checks for both HIV and syphilis at the same time in pregnant women in Guatemala. The goal was to see if using this test would help more women get screened and treated during pregnancy, which can prevent passing these infections to their babies. The study included 149 women and also used ultrasound to check for signs of congenital syphilis in the fetus.
