Sports program boosts emotional health in teens battling addiction

Summary
This study looked at whether a special 8-week program combining sports and trauma-informed counseling could help teens aged 14-18 with substance use disorder. 120 teens participated, with half taking part in the program and the other half receiving no extra support. The program aimed to improve how they manage emotions, feel about themselves, and get along with peers. Results showed promise for helping teens build healthier coping skills and relationships.
