Summary
This study looks at tissue removed during back surgery to find people who may have a heart condition called transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis (ATTR-CA). The goal is to catch the disease early, when treatments work best. Researchers will test spine samples from 1,663 older adults and follow up with heart scans for those who show signs of the condition.
