New expandable spine implants show promise in reducing complications

NCT ID NCT05536453

Summary

This study looked back at 465 patients who received spinal fusion surgery for degenerative disc disease. Researchers compared two types of implants—expandable and static—to see which design caused less sinking of the device into the bone over two years. The goal was to identify implant features that lead to better long-term stability and pain relief after back surgery.
