Summary

This study tested whether stimulating the spinal cord could restore sensation and reduce phantom limb pain in people with upper-limb amputations. Four participants had temporary electrodes placed near their spinal cord for up to 29 days. Researchers measured the sensations produced and tracked changes in phantom limb pain.
