Old migraine drug gets new shot at healing spinal injuries

NCT ID NCT06677229

Summary

This early-stage trial is testing whether a migraine medication called Eletriptan can help people recover function after a recent spinal cord injury. Researchers will give the drug to 28 adults with thoracic spinal injuries within 24 hours of their injury to see if it's safe and if it improves movement. The study repurposes a drug with 20 years of safety history to potentially help the nervous system heal.
