First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding either dexmedetomidine or magnesium sulfate to standard spinal anesthesia can improve pain control and recovery for adults undergoing hip fracture repair. About 92 patients will receive one of the two additives, and researchers will measure how quickly numbness sets in, how long it lasts, and how well pain is controlled for 24 hours after surgery. The goal is to find a safer, more effective way to manage pain during and after this common operation.
