Summary
This study explores whether computer analysis of speech can reliably detect motor, emotional, and cognitive changes in people with Parkinson's disease. Researchers will record speech from 80 participants under different medication and brain stimulation conditions. The goal is to develop a non-invasive tool to monitor symptom fluctuations, potentially improving treatment adjustments.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a simple, non-invasive way to monitor Parkinson's symptoms using speech, helping doctors adjust treatments more precisely.
What could go wrong
This is an early observational study with only 80 participants, so results may not apply to all patients. Speech changes can also be influenced by many factors beyond Parkinson's.
