New drug shows promise for rare nerve disorder that steals mobility

Summary

This study tests an experimental drug called AT-007 in adults with a rare inherited nerve disease (SORD deficiency) that causes weakness and trouble walking. The drug aims to lower harmful sorbitol levels in the body and improve walking speed over 24 months. About 56 participants will receive either AT-007 or a placebo in a double-blind design.
