Sound waves may wake up immune system against liver cancer

NCT ID NCT07365527

First seen Jan 26, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special ultrasound technique, called sonoporation, can safely change the environment around liver tumors from colorectal cancer. About 48 adults will receive either low- or high-intensity contrast-enhanced ultrasound before their planned surgery or treatment. Researchers will check if this makes the tumors more visible to the immune system, potentially helping future treatments work better.
