Summary
This study looked at 30 people with a rare and aggressive type of gut cancer called poorly-differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma. Researchers used a special PET scan to see if the cancer cells have a certain marker (somatostatin receptor) that could be targeted by a future treatment. The goal was to gather information, not to treat the disease directly.
