Tooth graft boosts dental implant success in front teeth

NCT ID NCT06043037

First seen Jan 09, 2026

Summary

This study tested a new way to place dental implants in the front of the mouth. It combined the socket shield technique (keeping a piece of the natural tooth) with a graft made from the patient's own tooth. Fifty adults with a damaged front tooth were split into two groups: one got the standard socket shield technique, the other got the socket shield plus the tooth graft. The goal was to see if the graft helped preserve bone and gum tissue around the implant.
