Can learning to read social cues help teens beat depression?
NCT ID NCT05456035
Summary
This study is testing whether adding social skills training to standard cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) makes depression treatment more effective for teenagers. Researchers will work with 82 teens aged 13-17 who have depression, comparing the enhanced therapy to regular CBT alone. The goal is to see if teaching skills like understanding others' perspectives helps reduce depressive symptoms both immediately after treatment and six months later.
