First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looked at whether allowing a woman to have a family member or friend with her during childbirth can reduce her anxiety and pain and increase her satisfaction. The trial involved 150 low-risk pregnant women at a government hospital in Jordan where support people are not normally allowed. Half the women were randomly chosen to have a support person present during labor, and the other half received standard care alone.
