First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tested whether involving a person's family and friends can help them stay on methadone treatment for opioid use disorder and take their HIV medication regularly. Researchers adapted a UK program for use in Tanzania and tried it with 20 people receiving methadone and up to 60 of their support persons. The goal was to see if the approach was acceptable and feasible, not to measure health outcomes.
