Facebook fights tanning: social media slashes skin cancer risk in High-Risk women

NCT ID NCT03441321

First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tested whether a program delivered through Facebook could help young women who tan frequently (at least 10 times a year) reduce their tanning. Over 400 women took part, and the program aimed to promote healthy behaviors and positive body image. The main goal was to see if the social media campaign led to less indoor and outdoor tanning after 8 months, which could lower their risk of skin cancer.
