First seen Mar 29, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looks at whether encouraging young adults (ages 18-29) to have more in-person chats with strangers and acquaintances can help reduce feelings of loneliness and social isolation. About 1,900 participants will use a smartphone app for 6 weeks to track their location and answer surveys. The goal is to understand what helps or hinders people from making social connections.
