Secret weapon for soccer stars? simple calf raises may boost speed and jumping

NCT ID NCT07482254

First seen Mar 28, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a short, one-legged isometric calf-raise exercise can immediately improve sprinting, jumping, and change-of-direction performance in elite youth soccer players (ages 15-19). Twelve male players from a professional academy will do either the isometric exercise or a light walk, then repeat performance tests. The goal is to see if this simple warm-up trick can give players a quick edge on the field.
