First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This study looked at whether smokers who switch to combustion-free nicotine products (like e-cigarettes or heated tobacco) see improvements in gum health and tooth appearance compared to those who keep smoking. Over 18 months, 460 healthy adults were followed. The goal was to measure changes in gum inflammation and tooth staining. Results could help smokers understand if switching reduces oral health risks.
