First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 41 times

Summary

This study looks at whether varenicline (a prescription drug) or nicotine patches help people quit smoking more effectively, depending on their natural levels of emotion and attention. About 204 smokers aged 18-75 who smoke at least 5 cigarettes daily will receive behavioral counseling plus one of the treatments. The goal is to see which approach works best for different personality types.
