New program aims to help mental health patients quit smoking and close life expectancy gap

Summary
This study is testing a special support program called 'Tabapsy' designed to help people with mental health conditions quit smoking. The program includes workshops, peer support groups, and personalized plans to address the unique challenges this group faces when trying to quit. Researchers will enroll 6,500 adults who smoke and receive outpatient mental health care to see if the program helps them stop smoking for at least 7 days.
