Summary
This study tested a program to help people with mental illness quit smoking. The program included regular support from their healthcare provider and proactive phone calls from clinic staff to connect them with stop-smoking treatments. 94 daily smokers from community mental health centers took part, and researchers measured how many were able to quit or reduce smoking over a year.
