Phone app aims to shield kenyan women from violence and climate shocks

Summary
This study is testing a smartphone program to help women in Kenyan informal settlements deal with intimate partner violence and stress from extreme weather. About 272 women will be randomly assigned to use the mobile program or not. The program offers short lessons on safety planning, coping skills, and climate adaptation. Researchers will track changes in violence, stress, and social support over 12 months.
