New app aims to boost prostate cancer awareness and screening in black men

NCT ID NCT05331638

First seen Mar 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests whether a smartphone app can help African American men learn about prostate cancer and complete a home-based PSA test. About 80 men aged 55-69 in Oklahoma who haven't had a PSA test in two years will use either a new app or an existing government app for 30 days. The goal is to see if the app is easy to use, improves knowledge, and increases screening rates.
