First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jul 22, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study compares two non-drug approaches to improve sleep in adults with poor sleep quality. One group uses aromatherapy and pink noise, while another practices muscle relaxation and breathing exercises. All participants also receive sleep hygiene education. The goal is to see which method works best for better sleep and daily well-being.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- aromatherapy and pink noise (sensory); progressive muscle relaxation and diaphragmatic breathing (behavioral)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could point toward simple, non-drug strategies to improve sleep quality and related well-being.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial with only 54 participants. Results may not apply to everyone, and the interventions may not work for all types of sleep problems.
