New skin patch aims to calm agitation in Alzheimer's patients
NCT ID NCT06052254
Summary
This study is testing whether a medicated skin patch can safely reduce agitation in people with Alzheimer's dementia. About 150 participants living in care facilities will wear the patch for two separate 4-day periods to see if it lessens the frequency and severity of their agitation compared to a placebo patch. The goal is to find a new, non-pill option to help manage this distressing symptom.
