New camera technique reveals hidden tissue stiffness

NCT ID NCT06390085

First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tested a new, non-invasive way to measure muscle stiffness by taking images of the skin on the back. Five adults, either healthy or with mild neck pain, had their skin gently pulled and stretched while cameras recorded the movement. The goal was to see if this imaging method could detect differences in tissue stiffness, which could help understand pain conditions better.
