New camera technique reveals hidden muscle stiffness

NCT ID NCT06390085

First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study tested a new way to measure muscle stiffness by taking pictures of the skin on the back. Five adults, either healthy or with mild neck pain, had their skin gently pulled and stretched while cameras recorded the movement. The goal was to see if this simple imaging method could detect differences in tissue tightness, which might help diagnose muscle problems in the future.
