New hope for Triple-Negative breast cancer: SKB264 trial launches
NCT ID NCT06279364
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This phase 3 trial tests whether the drug SKB264 works better than standard chemotherapy as the first treatment for people with advanced triple-negative breast cancer that cannot be removed by surgery or has spread. About 524 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either SKB264 or one of several standard chemo drugs. The study measures how long people live and how long the cancer stays under control.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- SKB264 (a drug given by IV infusion)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a new first-line treatment option for people with advanced triple-negative breast cancer, potentially improving survival and delaying disease progression.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early-stage trial, so the drug may not prove more effective than existing chemotherapies. Side effects are possible, and results may not apply to all patients.
