New coated balloon aims to keep heart arteries open longer

NCT ID NCT07444957

Summary

This study is observing how well a special balloon coated with a drug called sirolimus works to treat blocked heart arteries. Doctors are using this balloon during standard artery-opening procedures on over 1,100 patients with various types of heart artery disease. The main goal is to see if this approach safely prevents the treated artery from narrowing again or causing heart problems within the first year.
