Blood-Derived gel may boost jawbone grafts for dental implants
NCT ID NCT07348198
First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looked at 21 adults who needed sinus lift surgery on both sides of their upper jaw before getting dental implants. On one side, surgeons used a standard bone graft; on the other side, they added a gel made from the patient's own blood (platelet-rich fibrin, or PRF). After six months, small bone samples were examined to see how much new bone had formed. The goal was to find out if adding PRF helps the bone heal better.
