Can practice on dolls save real babies? study tests medical training transfer
NCT ID NCT06572033
Summary
This study aims to see if healthcare providers' skills in helping newborns breathe, which they practice on mannequins in a simulation lab, work the same way on real babies in the delivery room. Researchers will observe 120 respiratory therapists, comparing how well they minimize air leaks around the breathing mask in both settings. The goal is to understand if simulation training effectively prepares staff for real emergencies and to create a better scoring system for these critical skills.
