Silk-and-collagen patch aims to regrow jawbone in gum disease patients

Summary
This study tests a new membrane made from silk and collagen to help regrow bone in the jaw for people with advanced gum disease (periodontitis). The membrane is placed over the bone defect during surgery to guide new bone growth. The trial will enroll 80 adults with severe periodontitis and measure how much bone fills in over time using 3D X-rays.
