New blood marker may catch silica lung disease early
NCT ID NCT07376291
First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study is testing whether a specific antibody in the blood (anti-CD146) can help doctors diagnose lung diseases caused by breathing in silica dust at work. Silica exposure can lead to serious lung problems like scarring and cancer, but there is no simple test to catch it early. Researchers will compare 110 people with and without silica exposure to see if the antibody levels differ.
