Fungal spy scan: new PET tracks hidden infections

Summary

This study tests a new type of PET scan that uses a radioactive fungal component (siderophore) to light up areas of invasive Aspergillus infection in the body. Ten adults with suspected or confirmed fungal infections will receive the scan to see if it can accurately locate the infection. The goal is to improve diagnosis and guide treatment for these serious infections.
