Summary
This study is testing a less toxic bone marrow transplant method for children with severe sickle cell disease. It uses lower doses of radiation and specific medications to try to reduce dangerous complications while still aiming to cure the disease. The research involves 100 children who have a healthy, fully matched sibling donor and are experiencing serious complications from their condition.
