New Low-Toxicity transplant could cure sickle cell in kids

Summary
This study tests a gentler bone marrow transplant for children with sickle cell disease using a sibling donor. The goal is to cure the disease with fewer side effects by using low-dose radiation and medicines that calm the immune system. About 100 children will take part to see if this approach can safely replace the need for lifelong treatment.
