Summary

This study looks at whether levels of sialic acid (a natural substance) in blood and stool are linked to tumor features and healing problems after colorectal cancer surgery. Researchers will review past records of about 1,468 patients and also collect new stool samples for microbiome analysis. The goal is to find better ways to predict and prevent complications like anastomotic leakage.
