New combo therapy targets Hard-to-Treat stomach cancer
NCT ID NCT05671822
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests several combinations of a new drug called SHR-A1811 with immunotherapy and/or chemotherapy in people with advanced HER2-positive stomach or gastroesophageal junction cancer. The phase Ib part checks safety and the best dose, while phase II looks at how well the treatments shrink tumors. About 258 participants who have either failed prior treatment or are newly diagnosed will be enrolled.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- SHR-A1811 (an antibody-drug conjugate) combined with immunotherapy (SHR-1701 or SHR-1316) and/or chemotherapy (capecitabine)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could provide a new treatment option for people with advanced HER2-positive stomach cancer that has not responded to standard therapy.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early-phase trial (phase Ib/II), so the combinations may not prove effective or safe in larger studies. Side effects from the drug combinations could be serious.
