First seen Feb 14, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looks at whether special cells, called 'showering cells,' found in lung fluid can help doctors diagnose aspiration pneumonia (a lung infection caused by inhaling food or liquid). Researchers will compare 94 adults with and without the condition to see how accurate this new method is. The goal is to provide a faster, more reliable way to diagnose this serious infection.
