Could a 6-Hour balloon be just as good as 18 hours for Post-Birth bleeding?

NCT ID NCT04467996

First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at how long a balloon placed inside the uterus should stay to stop heavy bleeding after childbirth. Researchers want to see if removing it after 6 hours works as well as the usual 18 hours. If so, it could mean shorter hospital stays, less pain, and more time for mothers to bond with their babies. The trial involves 64 women who had a balloon placed for bleeding after vaginal delivery.
